Bad video quality is a universal problem. Many of you (including us) might have faced call dropouts, bad audio, lighting, etc. at some point or the other. It often leads to frustration that adds up to your day.
Fortunately, there is a fix for poor video quality. Thanks to Airtel VoLTE! Our latest technology can easily solve all your problems with its advanced services.
Let us help you understand what it is in detail below:
What is VoLTE?
Voice over LTE or VoLTE is an advanced service. It is used to make HD-quality and crystal-clear voice and video calls.
The service is only offered to Airtel users to receive an uninterrupted high-speed 4G internet experience. So, our customers can continue with their data sessions while they are still on the line with the caller.
In case a 4G network isn’t available, the VoLTE calls will automatically switch to either a 2G or 3G network to ensure you continue to stay connected at all times.
Airtel VoLTE services are often confused with normal calling facilities. So, let us help you understand the primary difference between the two services:
How are Normal Calls Different from Airtel VoLTE?
Long Term Evolution (LTE)
LTE or normal calls are a standard for high cellular communications systems. So, it does not allow you to make good-quality voice calls while using data services.
VoLTE
It is a much more standardized system to make HD calls. Therefore, you can make voice or video calls while using the data services without altering the quality of your voice.
Let us now summarise their differences in the table below:
LTE | VoLTE |
It does not support data and call services at the same time | It always supports data and call services at the same time |
Since it does not support data and call services together, the quality is low | As it supports both the services together, you can make a call in HD quality |
It automatically turns off your data while making calls | If the caller and receiver are on VoLTE, the connection will be faster |
The speed of the call connection is slower. It can take up to 7 seconds | The speed is not an issue with VoLTE |
People are rarely seen using LTE services. | Due to its benefits, it is widely used by everybody. |
Now that you know what VoLTE is and the difference between VoLTE and LTE, let’s proceed further to understand the requirements to activate Airtel VoLTE in detail below:
